Can a termination codon (stop codon) encode any of the aminoacids? 2023-03-27 at 11:07 am #2822 Marzana MParticipant There are three standard stop codons in biology: UAG, UAA, and UGA. There are some variations of these codons. See Stop codon – Wikipedia. A stop codon may be used to encode an amino acid, e.g., UGA can encode selenocysteine.
