        What is DNA origami?

Is it something synthetic or is it a natural product? What is it used for?

DNA origami is the nanoscale folding of DNA to create arbitrary two- and three-dimensional shapes at the nanoscale. The specificity of the interactions between complementary base pairs makes DNA a useful construction material, through design of its base sequences.

DNA origami has progressed past an art form and has found a number of applications from drug delivery systems to uses as circuitry in plasmonic devices; however, most commercial applications remain in a concept or testing phase.

Using DNA origami, researchers created traps that encase large viruses—such as SARS-CoV-2, influenza A, and Zika—in hopes of preventing them from infecting cells. This was proved in-vitro, and still needs to be tried in-vivo.
